Constructivism in Moscow

Guide to monuments of architecture which represent the history of 1920-1930 in Russia.
Constructivism is one of the most striking architectural styles of the first quarter of the 20th century. Although constructivism is considered to be Soviet art, its ideas arose earlier. For example, the features of this style can be seen even in the Eiffel Tower.
In Russia, constructivism developed thanks to the architects Vesnin, Konstantin Melnikov, Moisei Ginzburg and Ilya Golosov. They designed and built dozens of constructivist dwelling houses, clubs, garages and residential settlements in Moscow.
Constructivism is characterized by geometric simplicity of shapes, solid glazing, lack of decor and functionality.
