Main and most beautiful square of Yerevan. Ideal point for starting a walk around the city.
Created by the architect A. Tamanyan in 1926, until 1991 the square was named after Lenin. In 1991, the monument to Lenin, standing on the square, was dismantled, and the square received a new name - the Republic Square.
The architecture of the square is in national style. The ensemble includes five buildings: the House of the Government of Armenia, the House of Ministries, the House of Communication, the National Historical Museum of Armenia and the Marriott Armenia Hotel.
